Women in Design 2017

The Women in Design event brings together six successful women from CCAD and the surrounding design community. Discussions led by CCAD President Dr. Corn and engage in a range of topics including some of the following:
- Discussion around individual professional paths
- Professional successes and hurdles
- Projects or situations that changed professional approaches or prospectives
- Evolution of professional goals
- Thoughts about work/ life balance
- Where design is headed
- Advise to young women designers
Panelists include:
- Emily Brown - Co-Founder of STUMP
- Sugandh Goel - Founder and Creative at GUNAS New York
- Claire Coder - Founder and CEO of Aunt Flow
- Monica Weiler Ph.D. - Co-Founder of Stratos Innovation Group
- Taylor Downes - Vice President at EVO Designs
- Lauren Purkhiser - Design Research at LEXTANT and Central Ohio IDSA Chapter Chair
A social hour with hors d’oeuvres and drinks will happen prior to the event from 5:30-6:30. In addition to the speaking event, a silent auction and raffle will be conducted to raise money for the CCAD Industrial Design Student Collective. 100% of all proceeds will go to the collective. The fundraiser includes items from STUMP and Bath and Body Works and Silent Suction (GRID and GUNAS). We look forward to you joining this great discussion!
