CCAD brings the cool to Arts Fest
Pick up a hard copy of CityScene magazine's June issue (or find it here online) for great coverage of the Columbus Arts Festival, including a cover appearance with CCAD Student Agency members Kendra Bosse (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2018) and Audrey Steman (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2018), who joined Greater Columbus Arts Council President and CEO Tom Katzenmeyer for the photo. Bosse and Stemen designed the T-shirts worn by Arts Fest volunteers and others (and available for sale in Ampersand Emporium).
The CCAD connections to the Arts Festival are many: the college will be bringing the shade sculpture Sorbetdome to the festival, which runs Friday, June 9, through Sunday, June 1. Another major focal point at the festival is Structural Circumstances E.G. 2, which will be located on the east side of Bicentennial Park and is a commissioned work by CCAD grad Samuel Wagner (Fine Arts, 2004) and his wife, Christabel. The 24x8-foot, multicolored, transparent Plexiglas mobile home replica will be located on the east side of Bicentennial Park. The Wagners recently discussed their work in The Columbus Dispatch and on the Columbus Arts Festival blog. More details on the art installation can be found in 614 Magazine.
That's not all: In addition to its own booth at the Arts Festival, CCAD will be participating in the Columbus Arts Marketing Association display, and providing arts activities for children.
