The studied aesthetic of Marcus Morris
At age nine, Ohio native Marcus Morris (Photography, 2011) opened an issue of Vogue and never looked back. Now a freelance portrait and fashion photographer in New York City, Morris’ aesthetic is one influenced by “glossy magazines, travel, fashion, the 20th century, women with style, and boys with beauty.” When he’s not practicing photography, Morris is likely at a gallery or museum, or trying to escape the city for a weekend in the Catskills. He is currently developing several portraiture projects and eating pizza.

James Whiteside, 2015
James Whiteside is a principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre. I've been so fortunate to photograph him a few times and working with one of the best dancers in the world has been thrilling. Dancers are so aware of their bodies, and I love photographing them not dancing.
Elliot, 2016
Elliot is a gorgeous model who was so open and expressive during this beauty shoot. I think the best models are free spirits and Elliot is such a great example of that. I want to do a long-form project focused on natural expressions in portraiture. We take ourselves way too seriously!
Kevin in Dries Van Noten, Harlem, 2016
Kevin has become a muse of mine and we work well together. This was from a fashion story shot in Harlem. You see beautiful suits everywhere in Harlem and sometimes a fashion picture is just an echo of reality.
