Dr. Alice Ragland is an interdisciplinary scholar, writer, and educator with a PhD in Multicultural and Equity Studies in Education from The Ohio State University. She also has a Master's Degree in Cultural Studies in Education from Ohio University and a Bachelor's Degree in Writing Studies from Ohio University.  She started her position as Assistant Professor of Race & Ethnic Studies at Columbus College of Art & Design in 2022. Her research, writing, and teaching explore the intersections of history, race, gender, sexuality, resistance, and education. Her current work focuses on cultivating liberatory learning spaces that exist outside of institutions.


Dr. Ragland is also a diversity, equity, and anti-oppression consultant and community educator who facilitates justice-focused workshops locally and across the U.S. She is a reviewer and copyeditor for the Understanding and Dismantling Privilege journal, a board member and education chair for the Education Foundation for Freedom, and a consultant and facilitator at The Nova Collective and Sankofa Circle International.
