Joel Gundlach teaches building construction, design-build, design drawing, and furniture design. At CCAD since 1989, Gundlach has taught various industrial and interior design courses and is the recipient of the 2016 Teaching Excellence Award. Prior to joining CCAD, he was an associate designer at Ellies Design Group. Gundlach is also a freelance furniture designer and maintains an active practice designing and fabricating custom residential and commercial furniture and restoring antique wooden boats. His clients include the Columbus Foundation, the Columbus Museum of Art, New Albany Elementary and High School, Columbus College of Art & Design and many residences in the Ohio area.
