As Associate Dean of Design, Kelly DeVore is responsible for shepherding the curriculum development, evolvement, and transformation of CCAD's design disciplines. In this work, she emphasizes collaborative, research-based approaches that are future-focused and prioritize inclusivity, sustainability, and open communication. 

DeVore joined CCAD in 2012 following her MFA in Design Research with a specialization in Higher Education, and began her work in a joint appointment in Interior and Advertising and Graphic Design program. She was instrumental in the development of sustainable processes at the college (and getting recycling bins on campus), ushering the Interior program through accreditation reviews, reigniting collaborative client-based projects working with Wolfs Ridge Brewing, Easton and Airstream, and soon was appointed as Department Chair of Interior Design in 2014. Reimagining the program into an Interior Architecture & Design program, and growing a body of seasoned and professional faculty educators to collectively hone the coursework focused on current and actively changing student needs has been central to her role here. At CCAD, DeVore has also led the development of the Social Practice minor, the UX/UI minor, and several curriculum development initiatives across the campus. She has been consistently nominated for a Teaching Excellence Award and values the focus and development of student wellness and sustainability across the whole college. 

DeVore’s professional background spans the built environment, architecture,design research/semantic meaning, and branding/graphic design practices. She has a particular focus on sustainable building technologies and building types, and has produced/developed several projects in private practice as well as her own sustainable building projects at Idyll Reserve. Her works and ideas have been seen in publications and venues such as WIRED, The Farmers Almanac, Columbus Monthly, and most recently co-featured at A.I.R. Gallery (Brooklyn, NY) of her semantic/historical works on motherhood, space, and time, entitled, “You’re Safe, I’m Here” with colleagues Kelly Malec-Kosak and Lesley Jenike.
