Nicole Monahan

Nicole Monahan received her MFA from The Ohio State University in 2009, where she was a John Cavanaugh Sculpture Fellow. With degrees in painting, art history, ceramics, and sculpture, she combines these media to make dimensional collages and layered installations. She has shown nationally and internationally, including The Sculpture Center (Cleveland, OH), AIRY Gallery (Kofu, Japan), and Movement Research (New York, NY). She has been a resident artist at AIR-Yamanashi (Japan) and Burren College of Art (Ireland).
Monahan is a fellow of the US-Japan Leadership Program, a network of Japanese and American leaders in government, business, and academic sectors. Her background includes serving as Studio Director to Ann Hamilton; curatorial work at The Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Craft; and media strategy at Mc-Graw Hill Education and Edmentum. Her deepest passion, however, is to provide outstanding learning experiences for students at The Evergreen State College, The Ohio State University, Oregon College of Art & Craft, and since 2010, CCAD.
