Fashion Design

Kyoko Seki (Class of 2005, Fashion Design) figured out early on in her life as an artist that she could set her sights on a goal and achieve it. That attitude has taken her a long way at Abercrombie & Fitch, where she’s now a design director for the company’s Hollister brand.

Maddie Etter, a 2009 CCAD grad, is building her jewelry design business, Phyllis & Hazel, on the foundation of her education at Columbus College of Art & Design and the business expertise she gleaned from store and gallery owners — and her mom.

Seniors in the Fashion Design program at Columbus College of Art & Design are used to having their work on the runway in the annual Senior Fashion Show at CCAD.

But this year, some of their work is hitting a new venue: the window displays at Macy’s Easton Town Center.

Every year at Columbus College of Art & Design, faculty members from each major select an Outstanding Senior based on their academic and artistic accomplishments.

Chia Hsuan Wei, 21, says fashion is an adventure. "And I have lots of things to explore."

A senior fashion design student from Taiwan, Wei will debut her work alongside that of her CCAD classmates (16 fellow seniors and one MFA) Friday, May 13, at the annual CCAD Senior Fashion Show.

Get ready: The future of fashion is almost here.

Columbus has always been my home so I think part of me always knew that I would attend CCAD.

I started taking Saturday Morning Art Classes when I was in 5th grade and continued to take them off and on until I graduated from high school. I actually won my first class by earning Best of Show in the elementary school division at Grove City's Arts in the Alley Art Show!
