MyCCAD April 9, 2020 | You might be eligible for unemployment support

CCAD student workers can file for unemployment assistance

Due to the national emergency surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus), unemployment agencies may be waiving certain requirements. That means that if you were a CCAD student worker whose employment ended early because of COVID-19, you can apply for unemployment support from the state of Ohio at unemployment.ohio.gov or by calling 614.387.8408. Please note:

  • The website is your best option as high call volume has resulted in very long hold times.
  • When visiting unemployment.ohio.gov, click on the “Unemployed Workers” section at the top of the page to get started.
  • When filing your claim, you should list that you were laid off as a CCAD student worker due to COVID-19 and your employment was due to end on May 6. It is also important to mention that you were paid through March 31 and will receive your final paycheck from CCAD on April 15.
  • The state unemployment agency will make the decision whether to approve or deny your claim.

Please contact CCAD’s Human Resources department at humanresources@ccad.edu with any additional questions.
