Welcome, new students

We’re glad to have you (virtually) here. We know you have a lot of items on your to-do list (including many important Orientation items), but please be sure to set aside time from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, to join our President, Dr. Melanie Corn, as she officially welcomes you the campus community via Zoom. More details to come.

We’re live and ready to go

While most of our physical campus is temporarily closed, CCAD has been busy hosting guest expert artists, designers, and innovators across our program areas who share their insights and answer questions from the CCAD community in interactive sessions online. Check out this recorded CCAD Goes Live talk with photographer Kelsey McClellan (Photography, 2012) and Photography Chair and Fulbright Scholar Darren Lee Miller. More compelling conversations are headed your way in the weeks and months to come.

#CCADcreateaway

Building a cool prototype for your Industrial Design class? Experimenting with unexpected materials in Fine Arts? Whatever you’re up to this fall, in class and out, share it with your fellow CCAD community members on Instagram using the hashtag #CCADcreateaway. You just might see it featured here and elsewhere on CCAD’s social media. For instance, check out work by Brooke Ripley (Fine Arts, 2021) exploring negative space, above!

How has your creative practice changed since the COVID-19 pandemic began? My creative practices through the pandemic have become more relaxed and personal. As much as I love the projects I do for class, I have really enjoyed the opportunity to create anything I want on my own timeline.
