Alumna whimsically illustrates children's book
Illustration alumna Isuri Dayaratne (CCAD 2012) has provided whimsical illustrations for the pages of The Boy Who Slept in the Sky, a children's picture book published in October.
Written by Sulochana Dissanayake, the tale chronicles the faraway adventures of a little girl who meets a boy in the sky.
This is the first English children's book Dayaratne has illustrated; her other works include a Sinhalese children's book for the nonprofit organization Room to Read and a children's activity book for Auzou Publishing (France), both due to come out in early 2014.
Dayaratne currently works as a full-time freelance illustrator in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where she recently finished illustrating and designing a training publication for the International Labour Organization.
