Alumni design HOW magazine cover

Advertising & Graphic Design alumni Jen Adrion and Omar Noory (both CCAD 2008) designed the 2014 HOW International Design Annual cover.

The award-winning design magazine provides a mix of essential business information, technology tips, creative whys and hows behind noteworthy projects, and profiles of professionals who are influencing design.

"Our goal was to make it look as if the magazine itself had traveled to each location and picked up a little souvenir from each place," Adrion said in an interview with HOW.

The duo owns These Are Things, a design and illustration studio that sells maps and cards, and has had work featured in I Heart Stationery: Fresh Inspirations for Handcrafted Cards, Note Cards, Journals, & Other Paper Goods and The Crafter’s Guide to Taking Great Photos: The Best Techniques for Showcasing Your Handmade Creations.

“We can’t believe a magazine we’ve been reading since college is going to have our design on the cover,” Noory said.

Adrion is from Worthington, OH, where she attended Thomas Worthington High School, and Noory is from Loveland, OH, where he attended Loveland High School.
