Alumnus chosen to create Art Festival poster
"Art Affair on the Square" poster by Richard Hughes
Alumnus Richard Hughes (1988-1995) was chosen to create a poster for the eighth annual Art Affair on the Square in Urbana, OH.
Art Affair is an arts festival that features work by more than 60 artists in downtown Urbana. Each year a local artist is asked by the event planning board, is asked to portray his or her impressions of the annual show. Hughes responded to the request with a detailed painting of a festival scene.
The poster will be printed and signed by Hughes and available for purchase at the festival at Guild Galleries Interiors and Gifts, 118 N. Main St. The alumnus will also be on site painting during the duration of the festival.
Art Affair on the Square is July 21, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
