CCAD alumni, faculty win awards at State Fair
Fine Arts alumnus Josh Foy (CCAD 2002) was awarded best of show in the professional division for his sculpture, The Details II, at the Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition in August.
The exhibition featured 223 pieces by professional and amateur Ohio artists in visual arts and film/video.
Foy's sculpture, a giant structure made from folded clothes, was among 14 award-winning pieces created by CCAD alumni and faculty, three of which captured the show's top awards.
Fine Arts Adjunct Instructor Danielle Rante's piece Chasing Ice was awarded second best of show in the professional division and Foundation Studies Adjunct Instructor Andrea Myers took home third best of show in the professional division for Expanse.
Other winners included Advertising & Graphic Design alumnus Timothy Smith (CCAD 1983) from Loveland, OH, Illustration alumnus Richard Lillash (CCAD 1987) from Columbus, OH (Willoughby High School), Fine Arts alumnus Bryan Jellick (CCAD 1998) from Powell, OH (Lincoln High School), Fine Arts alumna Kellie McDermott (CCAD 1999) from Columbus, OH (Huntington High School), Media Studies Time-Based alumnus Corey Aumiller (CCAD 2006) from Los Angeles, CA (Hilliard Davidson High School), Fine Arts alumna Meghan Hager (CCAD 2008) from Plain City, OH (Bellefontaine High School), Illustration alumna Jessica Wojtasek (CCAD 2008) from Columbus, OH (Bridgeport High School), Fine Arts Professor John Kortlander, Fine Arts Associate Professor Dawson Kellogg, and Cinematic Arts Assistant Professor and alumnus Eric Homan (CCAD 1998) from Dublin, OH (Coldwater High School).
