CCAD Liberal Arts Director talks common reading

First-year common reading assignments can provide students with a shared experience and a touchstone for future discussions, Associate Professor Joshua Butts, Director of Liberal Arts and Department Head of Writing, Literature & Philosophy, recently told The Columbus Dispatch.  According to the Dispatch, Columbus College of Art & Design is not alone in incorporating such programs into curriculum, but some institutions have moved away from the practice.

"More than 40% of colleges and universities incorporate a common reading program into their orientations of new students," reported the paper.
