Love a fair: CCAD Art Fair returns April 2
Art lovers and art collectors: this one’s for you. Saturday, April 2, marks the return of the perennially popular CCAD Art Fair, a destination event for art fans in the know.
Exceptional work across disciplines — paintings, silkscreens and works in glass, ceramics and beyond — will be available at a range of price points. Among the offerings will be work by Fine Arts alumni Jen Townsend (CCAD 2010) and Anne Holman (CCAD 2002). The pair recently opened The Smithery, a jewelry studio and shop featuring artist-made goods, in Grandview Heights. At the Art Fair, Townsend and Holman will have their own handmade jewelry for sale. “I do a lot of kiln-fired glass enamel and sterling silver,” Townsend said. Her colorful, organic forms are complemented by Holman’s work in sterling silver, which embraces “modern and contemporary shapes ... sometimes incorporating antique components and reclaimed components.”
Whatever your tastes — or budget — the Art Fair is sure to have what you’re looking for. Ensure you’re among the first to get a glimpse at this year’s stellar collection of vendors — get early entry, starting at 9 a.m., for only $20.
Wallet looking especially slim? Not much of a morning person? General admission runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is $5. All tickets are available at the door of the Loann Crane Center at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Gay Street.
