Last year, Angelo Thomas (Film & Video, 2020) wrote his first novel about a pop star recovering from anorexia. Now that novel will be a full-length feature film, directed by Thomas himself. Read more here.
Industrial Design Professor David Burghy brought a group of 14 CCAD students (11 from Industrial Design and one each from the Fashion Design, Advertising & Graphic Design, and Animation programs) to Kent State University at the end of January for Kent’s Fashion/Tech Hackathon, and brought home a pair of awards for the effort, including a first-place finish for Team Cyclone, which had two Industrial Design students among its members, and a top award for Team Vida, which had a CCAD Industrial Design student and a CCAD Animation student among its members. CCAD is known to have “is known to have insightful and meaningful events” all year long, said CityScene Columbus, which highlighted several of particular note, including lectures from Bev Ryan, Bevil Conway, and Dr. Patricia Moore; plus a Women in Design panel, and an open rehearsal for the dance performance On Board(hers).
