CCAD grad Jessica Phelps (Media Studies, Still-Based, 2005) was recently named Newspaper Photographer of the Year and was featured in The New York Times for her work for The Newark Advocate in central Ohio. After studying at CCAD, Todd Aaron Smith went on to draw licensed trading cards for Star Wars, Marvel, DC Comics, Major League Baseball, and is currently working on his seventh set of Topps Major League Baseball cards. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York recently voted to include three pieces of Smith’s baseball card art part of its permanent collection, alongside works by Andy Warhol, LeRoy Neiman, Norman Rockwell, and many others. Fellow CCAD grad Jared Tomlinson (Advertising & Graphic Design, 1999), Standard Black’s Partner and Executive Creative Director, told the publication that he and Niemczura had discussed working together since they were art school classmates.
