Middle school students in Franklinton will soon have the opportunity to learn how to create comic books when CCAD launches a new program designed to bring art and design educational experiences to underserved youth. It marks the first time that CCAD has brought such a program to underserved youth at a charter school in Franklinton. The goal is to help overcome barriers of affordability and accessibility by bringing visual art education to students who may not be exposed to it. Read more here.
Melissa Estro (Fashion Design, 2001) and Josh Starcher (Fine Arts, 2001) collaborated on an art installation called Real Estate Goldmine. As a part of Beeler Gallery’s event An Art Book Affair in February, students from CCAD’s sophomore and junior Fine Arts intensive classes co-produced an art book alongside the organizers of Copenhagen’s art book fair One Thousand Books.
