Statewide exhibition to showcase student, faculty, alumni work
A host of CCAD students, alumni, and faculty will be represented in IMAGEOhio 14 opening Jan. 21 at the Fort Hayes Shot Tower Gallery.
The annual exhibition of the best photography, video, and new media art in the state will showcase 49 works by 31 artists, selected by jurors Shannon Benine, assistant professor of photography at CCAD, and Aspen Mays, assistant professor of art at Ohio State University. Eight of the artists are connected to CCAD.
The inclusion of MFA candidate Griffin Pines' videos will mark one of the first times his work has been shown publicly. His videos Mary and VC972 explore cycles and repetition.
"It's really cool to get feedback [in] a gallery setting," Pines said.
The CCAD artists in the exhibition are Fine Arts alumnus Greg Ponchak (CCAD 2013); Liberal Arts Adjunct Instructor Timothy Smith; MFA candidates Angie Gunnoe from Columbus, OH, Griffin Pines from Orchard Lake, MI, and Jason Schwab from Bethlehem, PA; Fine Arts senior Eric Sherwood from Knoxville,TN (Farragut High School); and Photography seniors Allison Ezzo from Bexley, OH (Bexley High School), and Tom Hoying from Centerville, OH.
IMAGEOhio 14 will be on display Jan. 21–Feb. 21 at the Fort Hayes Shot Tower Gallery, located at 546 Jack Gibbs Blvd., Columbus, OH, 43215.
