Thank you for your interest in being an Orientation Leader at CCAD! These positions are a crucial part of the orientation program, and we take the selection of students for this important position very seriously. We are glad you are interested in applying, and we look forward to getting to know you better through the application process.

The application process consists of two parts:

  • Your completed application and written responses to specific questions
  • Personal interviews
2022 Timeline

February 21 2022: Applications open on myCCAD

March 11 2022:  Applications due by 5 p.m. on myCCAD

March 14-18 2022: Interviews for new applicants. If you are extended an interview, you will be contacted via e-mail with an interview time selected based on your provided schedule.

March 23-24 : Hiring decisions made.  You will be contacted via e-mail.

April 5: OL Confirmation Form due

*** You must be a current student to apply for an Orientation Leader position. If you are a current graduating senior you are not eligible to be an orientation leader*** 

Orientation dates are August 15-16 and august 18-19th. All Orientation Leaders needs to be available from August 8th -August 19th, 2022 for training, orientation prep and the actual days of orientation. Housing wll be provided on campus during this time for those who need it or students who live close to campus may live in their own spaces. 




Orientation Leader Position Description

General responsibilities include, but are not limited: 
  • Providing educational and helpful service to incoming students and families during orientation
  • Role modeling good behavior and a positive attitude
  • Preparing and performing in a group skits/videos/song parodies on college life at CCAD
  • Interacting and mingling with students and families all day, as well as in the evening social gatherings
  • Leading small group discussions with students
  • Leading information sessions with parents
  • Setting up for sessions, staffing check-in tables, and various other set-up duties
  • Interacting with faculty, staff, and administration
  • Becoming knowledgeable about college policies, procedures, offices, and organizations, using this information to act as a reference for students
  • Answering questions about CCAD resources and services
  • Demonstrating concern for others, respecting their varying opinions, differences, and rights
  • Participate in all training provided by the college, including pre-orientation training
  • Attend and participate fully in all Spring semester training meetings

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a respectable GPA (2.5 or above preferred, 2.0 and above required)
  • Must be in good academic, financial and judicial standing with the College
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstration of emotional maturity
  • Positive, friendly and cooperative attitude
  • The ability to work every day that is required (as listed in this packet)
