This fall, a new live-work-play community will open in Franklinton.

The Short North Gallery Hop on Aug. 4, 2018, will feature work by a number local black artists, including several Columbus College of Art & Design grads.

Columbus Alive recently highlighted some of the participating artists, including Annie Chrissy Burley (Animation, 2016), Cameron Granger (Film & Video, 2016), and Marshall Shorts (Industrial Design, 2006).

Columbus College of Art & Design is pleased to announce new additions and promotions in our faculty ranks ahead of the fall 2018 semester. The new and promoted faculty members are:

When he graduates from Columbus College of Art & Design in 2019, Josh Smukal (Film & Video) will be the first person in his family to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Originally, Smukal didn’t plan to go to college, but he and his family were overjoyed when he was admitted to — and awarded a scholarship from — CCAD.

Every year at Columbus College of Art & Design, Outstanding Seniors are selected by faculty for their academic and artistic accomplishments. Congrats to the 2018 Outstanding Seniors!

Mike Olenick is an experimental narrative filmmaker whose works have screened at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, the World Wide Video Festival, the Chicago Underground Film Festival, the Hamburg International Short Film Festival, Rencontres Internationales and Seattle International Film Festival, among others. He has edited projects for directors and filmmakers including Guy Maddin, Jennifer Reeder, Michael Robinson and Sadie Benning.
