Eric Homan is an assistant professor at the Columbus College of Art & Design in downtown Columbus, Ohio. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Time-Based Media Studies from CCAD in 1998 and received his Master of Fine Arts degree in Computer Arts at Florida Atlantic University in 2000. Eric employs his creative skills of using video, animation, photography, and digital technology as a means of communication and self-expression. He has received several awards from around the world for his artwork, including a Telly Award in 2001 for his computer animation piece "Life Forms".

Columbus College of Art & Design and the Ohio Film Group (OFG) have teamed up for several years to facilitate real-world work experiences and potential employment opportunities for CCAD students and graduates.

Starting in fall 2018, that connection will be even stronger.

Even though Pam Theodotou (MFA Cinematic Arts, 2013) worked in film full-time during the early 2000s, she recognized that the industry was changing fast. She decided to pursue additional formal training to not just maintain, but exceed in shaping the culture and business of film. “I believe that the MFA program at CCAD, rather than just going to film school, provided me with a diversity I otherwise would not have gotten,” she says.

We know CCAD is tops, and end-of-year press coverage reflected that, with accolades from Entertainment Weekly for a comic by a CCAD alum, and praise for Beeler Gallery from The Columbus Dispatch and Columbus Underground. CCAD grad Annie Burley (Animation, 2016) is now an artist in residence at Millworks Art Studios.

She was featured in a recent Columbus Alive article that also mentioned a few other past resident artists and CCAD alums: Cameron Granger (Film & Video, 2016) and Visiting Faculty Liz Roberts (MFA, 2014).

Several CCAD alumni were recently featured in a Columbus Alive story about brewers who are increasingly turning to local artists to design beer labels.

The Columbus Alive piece included Seventh Son's Jen Burton (Fine Arts, 2000) and pointed out that Clint Davidson (Fine Arts, 2000) designed the brewery's logo and Will Fugman (Media Studies, 1999) has worked on designing regular releases.

Indianapolis-based photographer Eric Lubrick and Louisville-based artist Aaron Lubrick have a lot in common — in addition to being identical twins, the Lubricks also both hold degrees from Columbus College of Art & Design.
