The cycle and beauty of life can be expressed in many different forms and CCAD faculty member and alumna, Julie Abijanac (CCAD 1992) and staff member Char Norman showcase this in their two-person exhibition Reaction∫Response.

Norman and Abijanac’s exhibition questions the relationship humans have with nature and science. It deals with the psychical and psychological process of life and death.

The September Gallery Hop in Columbus includes the opening of a month-long show by Fine Arts alumnae Sara E. Adrian (CCAD 1998).

FLASH! An Art Show includes high quality limited edition prints that Adrian describes as "creatures of ancient and modern times, imagery that may make you question your place in the universe and other strange wonders and delights."

A novel by Fine Arts alumna Ashley K. Alexander—inspired during art conservation studies and a Halloween ghost tour in Europe—is being published this August.

The Grave Watchers, a horror/paranormal fantasy novel under the nom de plume Missouri Dalton, is available as an e-book from Torquere Press.

A Fine Arts alumna’s first trunk show is this September in Columbus and it will feature custom hand-tooled silk floral hairpieces.

Michelle Dick’s business, Mimi's Closet, is a multi-faceted company of four divisions, including custom bridal accessories (Mimi's Closet Bridal Accessories), handcrafted handbags (Mimi Baggage), children's clothing and accessories (Mimi's Kids), and Misc. Mimi, which encompasses fine art, print work, and miscellaneous arts and crafts.

Six distinguished Columbus College of Art & Design alumni have been nominated for the 2011 Joseph V. Canzani Alumni Award for Excellence (AAE).

The nominees are Fine Arts alumni Roy Doty (CCAD 1942), Kate Rhoades (CCAD 2010) and Robert Tavani (CCAD 1985), Industrial Design alumnus Matthew Kaser (CCAD 1984), and associate alumni Nathan Greno (CCAD 1996) and Aminah Robinson (CCAD 1960). 

Fine Arts alumna Julie Abijanac (CCAD 1992) has been accepted into The Studios of Key West Artist in Residency Program for summer 2012.

Abijanac is one of 25 residency artists from five countries and 20 different cities selected to advance the visual, performing and literary arts through an array of disciplines and mediums.

Several CCAD alumni and faculty received awards at the opening of this year’s Fine Arts Exhibition at the Ohio State Fair.

The exhibition, housed in the Cox Fine Arts Center on the fairgrounds in Columbus, showcases approximately 300 pieces of Ohio’s best artwork during the fair, which runs through Aug. 7.

Suite42, a collaborative co-founded by Fine Arts alumna Danielle Julian-Norton (CCAD 1999), is having an open studio exhibition in Dresden, Germany of current work completed while in residence there.
