Cartoon Crossroads Columbus is bringing comics greats to an already amazing comics town this month, so it seemed like a good time to highlight some of our grads who are killing it in the comics and cartooning world. Here are four CCAD alumni who are living success stories, sharing advice for people who want to follow in their footsteps.

Inspired by the illustrated recipe collection They Draw & Cook, several artists and designers from the CCAD Student Agency embarked on an international culinary adventure with Columbus Food Adventures, visiting some amazing international eateries on the city’s northeast side and illustrating the food they discovered along the way.

Here are five of their swoonworthy finds.

One of the worst-kept secrets about Columbus is how affordable it is to live, work and play here. Entrepreneurs love how affordably their dreams can become reality. Young professionals enjoy rents that let them enjoy the city beyond their apartments. And, when it’s time to settle down, first-time homebuyers find plenty of options in good neighborhoods at reasonable prices. Don’t take our word for it, though. Lots of national publications are boasting about Columbus’ affordability.

As a teen, Andy J. Miller struggled with a part-time job working as a cashier.

“I really hated it, and I lost tons of money,” Miller, the son of an accountant father and artist mother, recalled.

But now business is big for Miller.

CCAD's Class of 2016 is ready to unleash their talents on the world and join the ranks of CCAD Alumni.

Parents, family and friends are invited to join us on Saturday, May 14, as more than 230 graduating CCAD seniors and MFA recipients don caps and gowns, walk across the stage of the historic Palace Theatre and receive their diplomas.

Every year at Columbus College of Art & Design, faculty members from each major select an Outstanding Senior based on their academic and artistic accomplishments.
