Seven alumni who studied Photography, Fine Arts and Media Studies teamed up to present Fringed: a fashionably fine art exhibition in Columbus.
Held at Fringe Outfitters, the event included art especially selected for the space and fashions from the boutique clothing store, as well as a silent auction, music, and raffle prizes.

Media Studies alumna Manjari Sharma (CCAD 2004) is currently using KickStarter.com to find ’backers’ for her latest photography series, Darshan.
“Darshan is a Sanskrit word that means 'sight,' 'view' or 'vision,’” Sharma wrote on the site. “My project, Darshan, aims to photographically recreate nine classical images of gods and goddesses pivotal to mythological stories in Hinduism.”

Photography alumna Audrey Jones (CCAD 2009) recently accepted a photography position at American Greetings in Cleveland, OH.
In an email to President Denny Griffith, Jones wrote, “I just found out last week that I got one of my dream positions. I start tomorrow and will officially be a part of the creative photo studio team as one of the six main photographers. … This just reassures me even more that CCAD is a great school that prepares you for a creative field ... and for that I want to say thank you.”

Manjari Sharma (CCAD ’04) was named Best of 2010 by the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).
ASMP chose Sharma after a personal photography project, The Shower Series, helped her to land her first national advertising campaign. The photographs from this project are now posted on billboards in 19 Indian cities.
In an interview with ASMP, Manjari said, “This body of work had me, I was consumed by it. And ultimately, for me, I have learned that the level of engrossment is directly proportional to the result.”

Chad Hughes (CCAD, '10) is the first-place award winner of the art and poster contest held by Columbus Food & Wine Affair Grand Tasting.
Columbus Food & Wine Affair has sponsored an art and poster contest for CCAD senior Advertising and Graphic Design classes five times throughout the event's eight-year history. When started in 2003, event organizers took notice of how other cities doing similar events incorporated the art community. "We wanted to do something better. We have seen art and wine as a natural connection from day one,” said Greg Maurer, event co-founder.

CCAD alumni and faculty included as participants in the German Village Art Crawl are Michael Guinane (Illustration, '00), Hiroshi Hayakawa, associate professor, Photography and Graduate Studies, (Media Studies Still-Based, '95), and Susan Otten (Illustration, '09). The first solo show by photographer Manjari Sharma (Media Studies Still-Based, '04) opens this summer at Richard Levy Gallery in Albuquerque, NM. On view July 9–Aug. 20, Paani will have an opening reception on July 17 from 6-8 p.m.

Manjari S. Sharma (Media Studies, '04) has been selected to participate in Center's Review Santa Fe, a premiere juried portfolio review event in New Mexico June 3-6. The weekend conference is designed to support, promote and provide opportunities to approximately 100 gifted and committed photographers who have created a project or series and are seeking feedback, critical discourse, and networking opportunities.
