Dear Students,

The Short North Gallery Hop on Aug. 4, 2018, will feature work by a number local black artists, including several Columbus College of Art & Design grads.

Columbus Alive recently highlighted some of the participating artists, including Annie Chrissy Burley (Animation, 2016), Cameron Granger (Film & Video, 2016), and Marshall Shorts (Industrial Design, 2006).

Shortly after two black men were arrested in a Starbucks in Philadelphia in April, Adjunct Instructor Alfredo Weeks wrote a piece about coffee shop racism.

"I open the door to a coffee shop, and as soon as I get inside I feel the stares," Weeks wrote in his piece published on Medium.
