Why host the 2018 CCAD Fashion Show at the Greater Columbus Convention Center?
Not only is the Greater Columbus Convention Center in the heart of the bustling Arena District and an incredible advocate for showing the world’s visitors why Columbus is so great, it also houses an impressive collection of local art.
In fact, it’s home to one of the largest contemporary collections of Franklin County art that exists. A range of media are represented, including oil, acrylic, fabric, collage, ceramic, glass, wood and interactive, as well as styles, from traditional to cartoon, dimensional and graffiti.
Is parking available at the Convention Center?
Valet parking is available to VIP ticket holders, and for General attendees, street parking is possible but there’s also covered garage parking at the Convention Center’s Goodale Garage ($12), Vine Street Garage ($12), South Garage ($12), and East Lot ($10). (Prices are subject to change.)
Where’s the party?
The 2018 CCAD Fashion Show runway event will take place in the Short North Ballroom, and the dance party afterward will be located in North Atrium around the As We Are giant selfie sculpture created by CCAD Associate Professor Matthew Mohr!
What kind of work goes into these collections?
CCAD’s Fashion Design students learn everything from patternmaking to printing custom fabrics, and students can travel overseas to learn from makers around the world. The students spend their entire senior year creating their collections for the CCAD Fashion Show.
But creating a collection doesn’t guarantee they’ll be included in the show. Their work is first juried by a group of Columbus’ top industry professionals who use their expertise to determine which collections and garments are compelling enough to star in the event on May 11.
This year, 14 Fashion Design seniors and one MFA candidate made the cut. Get the scoop on each student designer and their collections here.
Why should you attend?
The 2018 CCAD Fashion Show showcases top student work from emerging designers and helps raise money for student scholarships at CCAD.
Who are the models?

How long has this event been around?
The CCAD Fashion Show has been an annual event for decades. We’re really proud of how much it has evolved and the decades of work it’s done to define the Fashion Design student experience and shape Columbus’ fashion legacy. Have you seen this found video footage from one of our shows from the 1990s yet?
Who are this year’s Host Committee Co-Chairs?

What’s so exciting about Fashion Design at CCAD?
At CCAD, fashion is beyond couture. Fashion Design students create looks for niche markets, including motocross, plus size, and performance wear. In this year’s collections alone, there’s adaptive children's wear for kids with disabilities and unisex clothes inspired by androgynous insects.
These students have come from all over the world to study Fashion Design at CCAD — as far away as China and the Virgin Islands and as close as Columbus. Their diverse ideas, insights, and voices are part of what make the evening’s focus on fashion so fun. Get to know them better here.
