February is Black History Month

Spring Art Fair cancellation

After holding two Virtual Art Fairs in 2020, CCAD has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Spring Art Fair scheduled for April. We remain cautiously optimistic about returning to in-person sales and our traditional Art Fair format this December. The decision to cancel this year’s Spring Art Fair was made in part because many of our student participants’ interest in taking part in the event dropped significantly from spring to fall last year.

Stay tuned: In place of the Spring Art Fair, we will be piloting a new, alumni-only event—the CCAD Alumni Art & Design Market, Friday, April 9–Sunday, April 11. We see this as an opportunity to fine-tune our virtual sales event and, we hope, engage a broader customer base, new markets, and new opportunities so that our next in-person Art Fair featuring work by current students and alumni is bigger and better than ever.

If you live in Ohio and have not yet seen a CWC therapist this academic year, you must schedule an appointment online first. If you have already seen a CWC therapist this school year, email [email protected] for the next steps.

Misfits get animated
A group of past and present CCAD students, including Sean Howard (Animation, 2021) and Khiarah Ruiz-Rodriguez (Comics & Narrative Practice, 2021) have teamed up on the creation of an online group, Misfit Artists, whose planned flagship project is the Web series How to Kill a Monster, inspired by characters they created through CCAD’s BGA club and their own tabletop adventures. The series will see the characters form bonds and tackle their fears as they grow closer to a looming threat. The Misfits plan on posting their official trailer on YouTube in May, but for the time being, the channel is host to production diaries, animations, and tutorials.
