Giving thanks

Don’t miss out on the CCAD Family Thanksgiving meal today, Monday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in The Market. The turkey-fest is free for all students.
 
Sticking around for Thanksgiving? Join us for a potluck meal on Thursday, Nov. 23.

 

Thanksgiving break

Thanksgiving break begins  Wednesday, Nov. 22. CCAD campus offices close at 1 p.m. Nov. 22 and will remain closed until Monday, Nov. 27. Labs will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23.

The Market will serve dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 21, and then will be closed until dinner on Sunday, Nov. 26. Ampersand Emporium will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 22, through Friday, Nov. 24. The store will resume its hours of operation on Saturday, Nov. 25.

The Café will be closed over Thanksgiving break. Find additional details about building and facilities hours during break here.

 

CCAD Art Fair & Marketplace

Get a jump on your holiday shopping — and support your classmates and CCAD grads — at the CCAD Art Fair & Marketplace on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The Affordable Care Act health insurance marketplace open enrollment period is open through Friday, Dec. 15, 2017. Open advising

Have questions about spring schedules, academic plans, and course registration? Advisors are available for an Open Advising Session from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Nov. 27, in the Canzani Multi-purpose Room. New Student Seminar credit is available.

 

Lunch with the SGA

Break bread with the Student Government Association and CCAD President Melanie Corn at an informal lunch at The Market Wednesday, Nov. 29, and Wednesday, Dec. 6. The SGA’s weekly lunch get-togethers run through Wednesday, Dec. 13.

 

See C.F. Payne: An American Illustrator

Catch a free screening of C.F. Payne: An American Illustrator, which follows the career of the longtime illustrator and former CCAD instructor, on Thursday, Nov. 30. A reception will precede the screening, and a Q&A with the artist and filmmakers will follow.

 

Help shape Chroma

Help shape the future of Chroma: Best of CCAD (and get a free lunch) at the first meeting of the Student Chroma Committee on Friday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. Students of all majors are needed to help with everything from marketing to hospitality to on-site signage.

 

Faculty exhibition

Through Jan. 21, check out New Faculty: Illustration – Comics in the Canzani Center Atrium. The show features work by faculty members who create comics, drawings, and illustrations.

 

CCAD Graduate Studies talks: Cara Benedetto

Artist and writer Cara Benedetto, whose work has been shown at Metro Pictures, MOCA Cleveland, MOMA Warsaw, and Art in General, will discuss her text and performance-based creations Friday, Dec. 1, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the CCAD Graduate Studies Talks at Beeler Gallery.

 

A taste of Bob's Burgers

Bob’s Burgers made history in its season eight season premiere, tapping 62 artists to create an entirely fan-drawn episode. Khaila Carr (Illustration, 2018) was among those who contributed.

 

Flying high at Hackathon

A group of CCAD students won big in an aviation design challenge hosted at Kent State University onOct. 13 – 15. They are Jessika Raisor (Animation, 2019), and Industrial Design students, Matthew Erdmann (2021), Lakaya Fearon (2021), Xin Xu (2019), and Hsiu-Wen Chang (2019).

 

Graduate students & alumni connect at SOFA

Columbus College of Art & Design was one of six top art and design schools in the country chosen to create a unique installation as part of SOFA CONNECT, an annual student competition at SOFA CHICAGO. The CCAD team of graduate students, graduate alumni, and faculty advisors created a display around the theme of “Future Summer Nostalgia.”
