Life at CCAD

Every year at Columbus College of Art & Design, faculty members from each major select an Outstanding Senior based on their academic and artistic accomplishments.

Here are the Outstanding Seniors from the Class of 2016:

ADVERTISING & GRAPHIC DESIGN

Columbus College of Art & Design is hosting an exhibition called Chroma: The Best of CCAD 2016 to showcase the best student works from all 10 majors — from design to fine arts — and our Master of Fine Arts program.

Dr. Dwayne Todd, Vice President for Student Affairs at CCAD, has been appointed Vice President for Student Engagement and Success at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Art lovers and art collectors: this one’s for you. Saturday, April 2, marks the return of the perennially popular CCAD Art Fair, a destination event for art fans in the know.

As CCAD enters a new era with Dr. Melanie Corn as its fifth President, the college wanted to thank Provost Kevin J. Conlon for serving as Interim President from March 2015 to March 2016.

Conlon did a lot for CCAD in his year as Interim President.

CCAD is all about diversity and inclusion.

So once a month, the Office of Multicultural Affairs organizes a lunchtime discussion about topics ranging from race to LGBT issues.

Oh, and there’s free pizza for current CCAD students.

They’ve been popping up on campus all semester: intricately worked chalkboard messages with one signature, #dangerdust.

Dangerdust has captured the attention of students and taken social media by storm. I recently sat down with the artistic duo and; while I can’t name names, I did get a sense of who these artists are and what drives them.

They wish to remain unnamed (although they admit most of their friends and classmates know they’re behind the rogue art).
