In 1958, when Columbus College of Art & Design was still called the Columbus Art School, a young industrial design student named John Schaffner met an advertising design student named Luray Schirtzinger.
They would eat lunch together with friends, and after a while, Luray took a liking to John. So she asked him out.

Art school is different. It's different from your high school and from other universities, which is awesome! Classes ended yesterday here at CCAD, and here's what to expect your first semester at CCAD.
1. You will learn a lot. This past semester I've learned many things that I wasn't even anticipating such as being able to work Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. As well as draw nude models, speak about art's "juxtaposition," and realize how many careers are available to art majors.

With early action deadline for admissions, just around the corner (December 1st), here are a few things to remember when applying to CCAD:
1. Turn it in ASAP. CCAD looks at applications on a rolling deadline, which means that the sooner you turn it in, the sooner we will start reviewing it.
2. Proof your application. You can send a draft of your application to your admissions counselor via email; it would also be worthwhile to have teachers or family members review your application.

I am very much a small town girl. I moved around the country quite a bit when I was younger; I never really stayed in one town for more than a year. Eventually my family settled in the small town of Washington, Illinois, and I’ve called Washington my home for about ten years. It was there where I met lifelong friends, fell in love with art, and had my first job.

Last Friday, the Animation Student Collective had the chance to speak with New York City based alumnus Marcus Morris, who was here this week as an artist-in-residence. Morris is a photographer and post-production artist who has worked extensively with the fashion industry and has often collaborated on projects with London-based animator, illustrator and art director Jo Ratcliffe (including the collaborative work the two did on Lady Gaga’s music video “Applause”).

CCAD's Market (Cafeteria) has a variety of food for students, it's open for community members as well. Freshman who live on campus, automatically get a lot of swipes on their ID as a meal plan. But the Market also has student discounts for those who only want to dine every once in a while.
