Eight life-size portraits painted by a CCAD alumna began touring in 2008 and will make their way to the Superdome in New Orleans in December 2011.

The Eyes of Freedom: the Lima Company Memorial honors those who have fallen in service. The paintings were completed by Anita Miller (CCAD 1991-1999) and took her more than two years to complete.

It's been quite a design awards season for Columbus College of Art & Design, especially for the college's Design Group—a student-staffed, in-house design agency.

CCAD’s Career Services office is at the forefront of an accelerated competition to launch the next great company in Central Ohio and is simultaneously hosting a startup "crash course" to spur innovation among entrepreneurs.

The competition, tagged 1492, is a collaboration among TechColumbus, Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), and Columbus State Community College (CSCC) with support from Ohio’s Third Frontier.

Alumnus William Walker passed away this week, but his memory and legacy will continue.

A second Illustration alumna, Evangelia Philippidis, is an active member of the class of 1981. In addition to her Homecoming contributions, she is pitching in to assist with the 1974 class reunion.

During a recent trip to Asia, President Denny Griffith met with two decades of CCAD alumni in Seoul, Korea to catch up on life and remind the graduates of the pride CCAD has in them.

When we created the CCAD Alumni page on Facebook, all we asked was that you “like” us. What we didn’t anticipate was that you would love us.

Each year, we ask our alumni to nominate their classmates for the Joseph V. Canzani Alumni Award for Excellence (AAE). It’s a way for us to acknowledge not only the success and contributions of one very deserving graduate, but also the impact CCAD alumni have all over the world.

Associate alumnus Jamie Berger (CCAD 1975-1978) and his brother were recently featured in a HOW Magazine article detailing the rebranding and success of their printing company, Cranky Pressman.

“My younger brother has owned and operated a printing shop in Salem, Ohio for years,” Berger said. “As with many print and graphics companies, the shop has had some ups and downs since the Apple and digital artwork took over the world.”
