In any design field, artists have to balance their own brand or their company’s brand with the trends that come and go. We had a chance to chat with three alumnae working at Victoria’s Secret about their own efforts to find this balance in their work.
The alumnae work on marketing projects from new gift card designs to environmental graphics that appear in stores nationwide.

Alumna participates in international art fair
Fine Arts alumna and Assistant Professor Danielle Julian Norton had work featured in Art13 Fair, a fair in West London dedicated to international contemporary art.
The fair showcased 129 galleries from 30 countries during the weekend event taking place Feb. 28–March 3.

CCAD faculty and alumni will exhibit their work at Wehrle Gallery at Ohio Dominican University, March 17–April 12.

Alumna exhibits in New Albany
Fine Arts alumna Juliette Montague (CCAD 1985) and her husband Greg Stange will exhibit work at Hayley Gallery in New Albany, OH.
The show All Mixed Up, which will run through the month of March, features work by Montague and her husband along with pieces that they collaborated on. The couple are the owners of StagMont Design, for which they use common household objects (think cans, kitchen utensils, scrap fabric, etc.) to create mixed-media sculptures—all with a humorous undertone.

A group exhibition at Lindsay Gallery, opening March 1, features artwork from CCAD alumni and staff.
Four Ways of Looking, curated by Columbus artist Linda Gall, features Gall's work alongside CCAD Editorial Director Laura Bidwa and Fine Arts alumnae Sarah Fairchild (CCAD 1994) and Laura Sanders (CCAD 1988).

Alumna wins sustainability award
Fine Arts alumna Michelle Brickner (CCAD 2001) was recently selected as a Champion of Sustainability by Entrepreneurs for Sustainability (E4S) in Cleveland.
Brickner is an art teacher and organic community garden coordinator at Saint Martin de Porres High School in Cleveland.

Alumni, faculty show in Chicago
Associate professor and Fine Arts alumnus Ed Valentine (CCAD 1991) and adjunct faculty and Fine Arts alumnus Michael Stillion (CCAD 2002) have exhibitions at Linda Warren Projects through April 5 in Chicago.
Valentine's exhibition Somebody's Beauty will be up in Gallery Y, with Stillion's exhibition B.Z.&C.: Bent, Zigzag and Crooked in Gallery X.
Both artists focus on portraiture—although their styles are drastically different.
