Associate Professor and Photography alumnus Hiroshi Hayakawa has an exhibition, Paper Pups, at the Bexley Public Library in Bexley, OH, through Aug. 31.
Alumnus has show at local library
Photography alumnus Chad Hunt (CCAD 1994) had on of his photographs accepted into the permanent collection of Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts. The photograph, View from the door of a Blackhawk helicopter over the Kabul River, was taken when he was embedded with U.S. troops at the Korengal outpost in Afghanistan.
Work by alumnus added to museum's collection
After months of voting and deliberation it is time to announce this year's Alumni Award for Excellence winner: Chad Hunt (CCAD 1994). The Photography alumnus will be honored during CCAD’s Alumni & Family Weekend, taking place Oct. 4–5, and during that time will have an exhibition on campus of his current work. “Honestly I was very flattered to be nominated,” Hunt said. “CCAD has produced some amazingly talented artists, and I am humbled that my name is in people's minds.”
CCAD announces Alumni Award winner
CCAD president Denny Griffith and Illustration alumna Amanda Hope Cook (CCAD 1999) have work in the group exhibition Photography's Back to the Future, presented by the Ohio Art Council's Riffe Gallery and open through July 7.
CCAD President, alumna in Columbus exhibition
Associate Professor and Photography alumnus Hiroshi Hayakawa recently published Paper Pups: 35 Dogs to Copy, Cut & Fold. The 1995 graduate’s book contains 35 paper dogs ranging from golden retrievers to French bulldogs. Using kirigami, an art similar to origami, the reader can copy a template and follow the steps to create a three-dimensional animal.
Alumnus publishes papercraft book
Media Studies alumna Manjari Sharma’s project Darshan was recently featured in the Yoga Journal. The national journal featured the 2004 grad's photograph Lakshmi with a write-up that will also be included in the journal's iPad app.

Four CCAD alumni have their work included in the 13th annual ImageOhio exhibition organized by Roy G Biv Gallery and on view at The Shot Tower Gallery at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Educational Center, Jan. 18–Feb. 15. The exhibition is juried by Bill Horrigan, curator at large for the Wexner Center for the Arts. Work includes photographs, projections, and video.

Several alumni earned well-deserved accolades at the Columbus Society of Communicating Arts (CSCA) Creative Best Awards for their work with S77, a motion graphics company in Columbus, OH. The CCAD alumni team at S77 includes Media Studies alumni Sean Conner (CCAD 2005), Nate Reese (CCAD 2005), Chris Meister (CCAD 2006), Andrew Mark (CCAD 2007), and Scott Ulliman (CCAD 2010), and Advertising & Graphic Design alumna Chavilah Bennett (CCAD 2012).
