Leadership opportunities for you
Interested in being an Orientation Leader?
Good news. The deadline to apply to be an Orientation Leader has been extended to 5 p.m. (EDT) Friday, March 19. Interviews will be held Monday, March 22–Friday, March 26, and hiring decisions are expected to be complete by Tuesday, March 30.
& you can learn how to start a student organization
Student Affairs will host an online workshop on starting student organizations and the expectations for CCAD's student groups 11–11:30 a.m. (EDT) Wednesday, March 24.
The store of the future is not a store
Are you interested in a career in retail? Check out “The store of the future is not a store,” a presentation from WD Partners’ Lee Peterson, online at noon (EDT) Thursday, March 18. It's free to attend, but RSVPs are required.
SPA is on its way
Remember, Student Progress Assessments are coming up Tuesday, March 30–Wednesday, March 31. This is a mandatory portfolio evaluation for sophomores (as well as some juniors and seniors), and all undergraduate classes, including evening classes, will be canceled on these dates.
COVID-19 testing
Students regularly accessing campus are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test (an oral rinse) on Sunday, March 21 or Monday, March 22, following spring break. If you are required to participate in this testing program, you received an email in mid-February from Dean of Students and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs Athena Sanders on behalf of CCAD’s Testing Management Team.
We're temporarily going remote
Next week, Monday, March 22–Friday, March 26, will be completely remote for all classes—even for hybrid courses—so that CCAD can complete its mandatory COVID-19 testing program. Hybrid courses will begin their post-spring break in-person component the week of Monday, April 5; CCAD will resume its weekly, random sample testing Monday, April 12.
Let's talk housing
Current students with housing questions are invited to join staff from CCAD Residence Life & Housing for a conversation via Zoom at 11 a.m. (EDT) Thursday, March 25. Returning students who wish to live on campus must apply to do so by 5 p.m. (EDT) Friday March 26.
Your writing could earn you cash prizes & acclaim
Consider submitting your work to this year’s Creative Writing Awards--you could win a cash prize and have your work published in Botticelli magazine. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. (EDT) Monday, March 22, and results will be announced by Monday, April 12. This annual contest for CCAD undergraduates includes three categories: prose (fiction/nonfiction), poetry, and screenwriting.
