Leaving Cbus

I am not very good at goodbyes. A lot of people say this as a way to avoid confronting certainty, but I say it because I have a hard time believing in their permanence.

Leaving Cbus
Columbus College of Art & Design and the Ohio Film Group (OFG) has set the stage for the creation of a state-of-the-art digital post production facility on campus. The facility will provide real-world work experiences and potential employment opportunities for CCAD students and graduates.
CCAD and the Ohio Film Group partner to create state-of-the-art studio on campus
By Emma Pennington For me, CCAD just made sense. I grew up in Columbus and most of my family is here. Being so close to such a great school was pretty convenient. In my later years of high school, I started to take the college search more seriously and amped up my portfolio. I received a generous scholarship that solidified my decision. I also had friends from high school going to CCAD, which made the transition less scary.
CCAD was the perfect choice
by Sarah Ribble Columbus has always been my home so I think part of me always knew that I would attend CCAD. I started taking Saturday Morning Art Classes when I was in 5th grade and continued to take them off and on until I graduated from high school. I actually won my first class by earning Best of Show in the elementary school division at Grove City's Arts in the Alley Art Show!
Why I chose CCAD
By Emma Pennington Over the weekend I took part in CCAD's "Before They’re Famous" Spring Art Sale. I teamed up with my friend and fellow animation senior, Hillary Hastings! It was the first time either of us sold our work, but we did very well. The highlight of the day was when a small baby saw my puppy stickers. Her face lit up and she immediately took out her binky to say, "woof!".

An ode to Roz Chast
Hello, hello Saturday! You are lookin’ well. Is that a new tie? CCAD suits you today, Saturday, and today is very important. Today is the Winter Open House so we’ve all got to dress to impress. You ready?
Our house is a very fine house
By Emma Pennington As an aspiring character animator, being able to sketch live animals is an invaluable experience. It’s not only helpful to learn their structures, but also to study their movements. A big part of my life here at CCAD is the Animation Student Collective, and one of the many activities we plan are outings to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for live sketching sessions.

Before Kit Yarrow's presentation even began, I could tell we were in for a treat. The auditorium was buzzing with an excited energy when President White took the stage to introduce Kelly Mooney, CEO of Resource Ammirati (the country’s largest independent digital marketing agency).

Twenty years after the original logo was born, CCAD design alumnus Will Bennett (Advertising & Graphic Design, 1997) is helping usher in a new era for one of Major League Soccer's leading teams. When the Columbus Crew surveyed fans in 2012, they were hit with a hard reality—their demographic was changing. Millenials were beginning to pack their stands. The team's owner, Anthony Precourt, who took over in 2013, knew the brand wasn't going to keep and immediately set out to change the face of the team, starting with a new logo.
